Richard Gray JD
Personal Injury Attorney Richard Gray began mountain biking in 1994, but switched to road biking in 2008. He currently rides a Trek Madone. Rich explains his love of cycling: “Riding my road bike combines fitness, fun and friendship. It’s a complete package for enjoying life,” he says, adding “I’m a big believer that if more people were cyclists, the world would be a better place. It’s good for the environment, good for our communities, improves health and fitness which makes people happier and more successful so they can do more good in the world.”
Rich is a seasoned litigation attorney practicing personal injury law in Utah. With his broad litigation experience, Rich handles personal injury litigation cases dealing with accidents involving cyclists, cars, semi-trucks and commercial trucks, motorcycles, public transportation, and pedestrians. He also represents clients dealing with injuries caused by negligence (dog bites, premise accidents, etc.), as well as wrongful death.
Rich received his Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Brigham Young University in 1995. He also finished post-graduation courses in Expository Writing and Biochemistry from University of Utah from 1996 to 1997. In 2003, he received his Juris Doctorate from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended law school on scholarship and was given the CALI Award for the highest grade in Appellate Advocacy.
He is a member in good standing with the Utah State Bar Association.
Prior to coming to Craig Swapp & Associates, Rich created and managed GEICO’s first in-house legal office in Utah. In 2011 he was honored as the winner of GEICO’s First Place Award for Bench Trials and Client Satisfaction. As the Manager of GEICO’s Utah litigation office, he directed and supervised all litigation and dispute resolution activities – including hiring and training of new attorneys and staff. As a litigation attorney for GEICO, he has vast experience in the court room with judges and juries, as well as arbitrators and mediators.
From 2006 to 2010, Rich was also associated with Allstate in Salt Lake City as a trial attorney for that insurance company. Prior to that he was an associate attorney with the Keen Law Office in Provo, Utah.
In addition to cycling, Rich also enjoys running and Utah’s amazing outdoor lifestyle.
