At-Fault Cyclist (May 17, 2011) A cyclist was struck by a car in a North Spokane intersection, but according to police the accident was caused by the 46-year-old cyclist. The collision occurred at the intersection of Post and Cora, and the driver had the right away. Fortunately, the bicyclist was released from the emergency room without serious injuries.
Commuting Cyclist Fatally Injured (October 4, 2010) A 32-year-old cyclist was on his way to work when a car failed to yield to him at the intersection of Lincoln and Fourth. The resulting impact caused severe head injuries to the cyclist, who later tragically died on December 14th.
Spokane Cyclist Killed (August 16, 2010) A local cyclist was struck and killed following a collision with a pickup truck in downtown Spokane. The cyclist, who died at the scene of the accident, was not wearing a helmet.
Support Rider Dies in Idaho (August 14, 2010) A cyclist riding support as part of a relay bike race was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 41 just outsider Blanchard, Idaho. The driver of the vehicle was charged with vehicular manslaughter and was ordered to jail for one year.
Fatal DUI Hit and Run (March 1, 2010) A Spokane bicyclist was killed by a driver under the influence at the intersection of Division and Sprague. The 56-year-old cyclist suffered multiple skull fractures. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The DUI driver was followed by a witness and was later arrested by Spokane Police.
